This short blog is a crystallization of my study that has taken place over the span of three and a half years. It's my timestamp in the form of words. My inner voice along the journey of adopting a Bitcoin standard. It’s the closing argument for Bitcoin I made to myself, which I had been constructing nearly the entire time.
There’s been at least 3,000 hours of study, listening, watching and reading. A time during which I’ve begun acquiring Bitcoin, running a Bitcoin node and mining on the Bitcoin blockchain. All of this to better understand the essence of Bitcoin. Not as an investment, but as a way to do two things. Save my energy, which is the product of the tens of thousands of hours I have spent working to create value. And buy my time back. Intentions that I believe are no different for anyone, anywhere. It's just that few have realized it.
This is only my viewpoint, but it might be a useful nudge to anyone who finds themselves just starting to realize they also want to save their energy. Or get their time back. It's for anyone uncovering the evidence that what they've been told about money may have been, at best, false. And it's for those waking up and finally seeing there's something so thoroughly broken with our fiat money that it's ruining nearly everything else in society.
I was there. Wandering around in the fog of a fiat lifestyle. Oblivious to the pot getting warmer. It could be a different conversation if there was no reliable hard money solution around. But Bitcoin is here now. And as it happens, certain events unfold and one question, just one curiosity, sends you down the rabbit hole, on your way to hundreds more questions. And some very shocking answers. What follows such an experience is likely to be a new way to look at our world, interact with society, think about energy and live a life.
